Think Small. You heard me. I know, everyone these days wants us to “think big” and “make big things happen.” We want you to do those things too!
“Goals in writing are dreams with deadlines.” – Brian Tracy
Of course you need to think of big goals and you need to write them down, but you also need to figure out how you are going to get there. You can’t just jump a building in a single bound (sorry, you are no superhero) and you can’t just wake-up to success in most cases. You have to take once single step towards your goal to begin. Then another. See where I am going here?
You need to really think what has to occur in order for the goal to happen. It isn’t one task that will set the stage for a grand performance. It is a lot of little things that take time to prepare for the grand event. Lots of little things add up to big things over the course of a year!
Committing to contacting a set number of potential clients each week, setting appointments when possible, and keeping them on a regular basis. This will help grow your business and network to be able to create a name and reputation with meaning.
Improving your record keeping so that you can actually see what’s happening in your business and be able to make actual decisions instead of best guess estimations. You will develop habits that create results and best business practices.
Keeping up-to-date with the changes in technology and making purchases in order to stay ahead of the competition. This shows you are business minded to allow your clients to stay current.
The may seem like little daily or weekly tasks, but at the end of 52 weeks you have seen growth!
Go ahead and rethink the big goals you have set for this year, because we know you went big! Now break those down into action items that build upon each other for steady progress towards reaching the goal. That daunting goal doesn’t seem so far off after all, does it?
